Opinium

Opinium has released a poll showing CON 34%, LAB 33%, LD 5%, UKIP 18%, GRN 4%. There are two notable features of this poll.

1. Opinium is showing the first Conservative lead since March 2012 where the Conservatives had 38% against Labour's 36%. Notice how the Conservatives and Labour are polling lower than they were in March 2012.

2. The Liberal Democrats have attained their lowest poll rating since (as far as I can see) the 23rd June 1990 ICM poll which had CON 36%, LAB 53%, LD 5%. In the subsequent April 1992 general election the Liberal Democrats scored 22.6%, although this time there is no indication of any recovery as their poll rating has been stagnant for around four years now.
