2015 Leaders' Debate

Yesterday ITV hosted a seven way leaders debate involving the leaders of the Conservatives, Labour, the Liberal Democrats, UKIP, the Green Party, the SNP and Plaid Cymru.

ComRes: CON/LAB/UKIP 21, SNP 20, LD 9, GRN 5, PC 2
ICM: LAB 25, CON 24, UKIP 19, SNP 17, LD 9, GRN 3, PC 2
Survation: CON/LAB 25, UKIP 24, SNP 15, LD 6, GRN 3, PC 2
YouGov: SNP 28, UKIP 20, CON 18, LAB 15, LD 10, GRN 5, PC 4.

Average: CON 22, LAB 21.5, UKIP 21, SNP 20, LD 8.5, GRN 4, PC 2.5.

We ended up with it being a very close run thing between the two largest parties, UKIP and the SNP with all four of those parties coming within two points of one another. The Liberal Democrats trailed in fifth with the Green Party in sixth and Plaid Cymru in seventh. 7 million people watched the debate and millions more will be exposed to the news coverage so it is possible that the polls will change as a result of this.
