End of the Election 2015 Campaign
After the longest campaign in recent British political history, the election is finally upon us. The polls open tomorrow morning at 7am and will close at 10pm, at which point the BBC, ITV and Sky will release their joint exit poll. Exit polls differ to ordinary polls as they ask people how they have voted rather than how they intend to vote. Remember the exit poll is not always accurate so it is worth waiting for the results before jumping to any conclusions.
All 650 constituencies will declare throughout the night and into Friday afternoon. Usually
Houghton and Sunderland South declares first and gives us an indication of what has happened. Usually before 1am few results are declared, but the pace increases after 1am.
If the final result proves to be unworkable then we could be looking at a second general election soon.
